Guest Speaking/Teaching

Share your expertise with young entrepreneurs! There are many opportunities to guest speak or teach a lesson on topics such as supply and demand, record keeping, marketing, brainstorming business ideas, income statements, getting started (financing), or industry-specific topics. Or just come and share your experience and lessons you've learned throughout your business and educational career.

Time Commitment: Approximately 30 - 45 minutes per session. Guest speakers are needed throughout the year.

Business Plan Coaching

Work one-on-one with NFTE students on their business plans. Coaching has a profound impact on student success and NFTE business formation rates jump from 14% to 30% when students are coupled with mentors.

Time Commitment: 3 - 4 hours over the course of four - five weeks. Coaches are needed in late fall/early winter and the spring.

Note: NFTE will conduct a background check which includes a criminal background check, sexual offender check and verification of S.S. number for identification purposes by CheckPoint Services, Inc. Business Plan Coaches are asked to voluntarily authorize NFTE to procure this report, which is done at no cost to the volunteer.

Alumni Mentor
Offer your support and guidance to a NFTE alumna who is looking to start/grow their business, attend college, or are planning their career.

Time Commitment: Varies. Mentors are needed throughout the year.
